We would like to add our tribute to the four people who lost their lives in the terrorist attack in Westminster yesterday including the bravest of the brave; Keith Palmer, the police officer and father-of-two who lost his life, protecting our freedom and democracy.
Bystanders report that he put other’s safety before his own as he ran towards danger to protect them. Keith was an unarmed member of the parliamentary and diplomatic protection command. He served as a soldier before joining the police fifteen years ago and now he has paid the ultimate sacrifice. Our hearts go out to his family at this very, very sad time.
We, at the BDLN, will do our very best to honour his memory by demonstrating compassion and bravery in all that we do. He was and is a shining example to us all.
